About the Anthony and Cynthia Corso PATH Scholarship

The Anthony and Cynthia Corso PATH Scholarship was established by Anthony and Cynthia Corso, both U.S. Army veterans whose paths began at Appalachian State University, to support fellow service members navigating the transition from military service into civilian, academic, and professional life.

Anthony and Cynthia met during their first days at Appalachian State and were actively involved in the Student Veterans Association, where they developed a shared commitment to supporting veterans as they transitioned to campus life. Their experience shaped a lasting belief that the period immediately following military service is one of the most challenging — and most important — transitions a veteran will face. This scholarship reflects that commitment by prioritizing Army veterans, pursuing a degree within the Walker College of Business and those transitioning directly from active-duty service.

The scholarship is grounded in the values of PATH — Purpose, Accountability, Tenacity, and Honor — representing both the foundation of military service and the journey each recipient undertakes in building their next chapter. Built on service. Focused on what comes next.
