Scholarships can supplement other funding like VA eduacation benefits, federal or state grants, or other scholarships. These scholarships are not always tuition-specific, some can be applied to other expenses such as housing, books, or other school supplies. Scholarships can also be a vital tool for student veterans who want to begin their graduate studies but have exhausted their VA education benefits.

- Scholarships should not ask for a social security number.
- Scholarships are never awarded to a new cohort weekly or monthly.
- Scholarships should not ask for bank account information.
- Scammers say: “We'll do all the work. You just pay a processing fee.”
- Scammers say: “You can’t get this information anywhere else.”
